Federal Student Aid

2024–25 FAFSA Roadmap | Knowledge Center

For the 2024-25 award year, the FAFSA is getting a facelift that includes a redesign and fewer questions. Plus, formulas determining aid eligibility have been modified with the goal of expanding financial assistance for low-income families. The FAFSA for the 2024-25 school year is projected to be available in December 2023, a few months later than usual. In years past, FAFSA applications opened up each October before the start of the next academic year.

PTSA Announcements
PTA Reflections Contest Submissions

The National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.  The 2023-2024 Georgia PTA Reflections program theme is I am Hopeful Because... The key to the Reflections program is the student interpreting the prompt any way they want to - this is yours to think about and express however you desire!

September is Attendance Awareness Month

Dear Parents,

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and Alpharetta High School Administration and Faculty want to take this opportunity to remind you of the importance of regular school attendance. Students attending school regularly are more likely to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

There are many reasons why students may miss school, but it is important to remember that every absence, excused or not, can have a negative impact on a student's education. For example, students who miss just one day of school a week can lose up to 20% of a school year's learning.

There are a number of things that parents can do to help their children attend school regularly. These include:

  • Creating a routine and making sure your child goes to bed and wakes up on time.
  • Making sure that your child has everything they need for school, including clothes, backpacks, and school supplies.
  • Please communicate with your child's teachers and Ms. Johnson, the Attendance Clerk, about their attendance.
  • Getting involved in your child's school and participating in events and activities so your student knows you have a relationship with the school.

Some of the above suggestions may sound elementary, but they worked in elementary school and can still work today. We appreciate your support in helping us ensure that all our students attend school regularly.

Summit Counseling

As a parent, you want what is best for your child, but it is not always easy to know what type of support they need. Mental health therapy helps students better understand their personal needs and learn new skills to manage life situations and relationships more effectively.  Summit Counseling has partnered with Alpharetta H.S. to provide support during the school day through our on-site therapist Bailey Little.
