Raider Recommends

Raiders, do you have questions, concerns or a great idea? We have implemented a new survey call Raider Recommends for student use. Through this survey, students will have the opportunity to share their ideas and concerns or submit feedback that will link directly to AHS administrators. The link to the survey can be found in the student hub under “Raider Recommends.” 

2024-2025 AHS Scheduling Information

AHS Families it is that time of the year for course selection for 2024-2025 school year. Teachers will begin making placement recommendations for current students via Infinite Campus January 24th to February 2nd. Parents should work with their student to develop a balanced schedule for next year, taking into consideration extracurricular activities, jobs, community service, family obligations and rest. By creating a balanced schedule, students are more likely to find success and enjoy their high school experience. First Course Verifications will be submitted via Microsoft Forms February 6th to February 16th 11:59pm. Review the full schedule of deadlines HERE.

Volunteer check-in and training changes

ATTENTION ALL VOLUNTEERS:

The district has changed the volunteer check-in system from Raptor to Checkmate. Unfortunately, the record of volunteers did not transfer over to the new system. Therefore, ALL VOLUNTEERS must complete the district’s volunteer training again to be registered as a volunteer for FCS schools. The completion of the training will be valid until May 31, 2026.

HBCU visits AHS

Atlanta's Historical Black Colleges will visit AHS on February 16th! Sign up at Students Naviance Account for a session with Morehouse, Spelman and Morris Brown Colleges today! Don't miss this great opportunity!

Student Parking Applications

Attention students! If you are looking to park on AHS campus next year, please click HERE https://www.fultonschools.org/domain/7392 to review the requirements and complete the parking application. ACT Test for Juniors

JUNIORS!!

We are delighted to share with you that Fulton County Schools will offer students in grade 11 an opportunity to take the ACT during the regular school day on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at no cost to the student or their family.  To help us in planning for this exciting testing opportunity, students will need to complete an interest survey.  If you are interested in having your 11th grade student take the ACT on March 13, please complete the following survey no later than Friday, January 12, 2024 by 11:59pm. 

 *The student must complete this survey by logging in with their FCSTU credentials: Junior ACT Interest Survey

HOPE SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY

Hope GPA’s have been updated for all students.  Please login to https://www.gafutures.org/  or to create an account https://www.gafutures.org/create-account. If you are not able to view your HOPE GPA or create an account, you likely do not have a social security number on file.  Please email Bryrdd@fultonschools.org to check if your student’s social security card was turned in. 


JUNIORS & SENIORS

Trade Talks 

Trade Talk is coming to Alpharetta High School!  Learn about real-world skills and how to prepare for a beauty career at Paul Mitchell The School Esani where students can choose from a variety of programs in cosmetology, barbering, esthetics, and nails. Students have a choice of 4th or 6th period on January 30th in the Media Center.  Students need to sign up before January 26th. Student should request permission from their teacher by End of Day January 26th if you will be missing their class.  Teachers will mark students from their class absent on the day of the visit, but we will take attendance in the media center and adjust attendance.  Reserve your space! https://forms.office.com/r/ExN5TJspjL


PEACHTREE COLLEGE PLANNING

Peachtree College Planning is hosting a free, virtual "How to Find the Right College and Avoid Overpaying" workshop on January 23, 24, and 25, 2024, at 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Senior Transcript Requests

Counselors have begun processing Common App midyear reports and Scrib orders.  If your senior applied to a college through Common App, they do not need to make a midyear transcript request. Counselors will automatically submit midyear reports for every senior with an active application in Common App.  Scrib order requests are only for colleges that are not listed in the student's Common App account. https://fultonga.scriborder.com.

Will's Way 5K

Celebrating 14 years, The Will To Live Foundation, a Johns Creek-based 501(c)(3) non-profit, was founded to raise awareness of teen suicide following the loss of 15-year-old freshman Will Trautwein to depression and suicide. 


Join the main event, the Will's Way 5K at Cauley Creek Park on February 3rd and secure a spot now for $20/team member or $25 solo, with a $5 incrase on the day.  Each participant gets a cool long sleeve Will To Live 5K T-shirt. All proceeds support vital programs like Signs of Suicide (SOS) and Life Teammate awards.

CHORUS FUNDRAISING

Join the AHS Chorus for a delightful evening at IHOP on 11720 Medlock Bridge Road from 4-9 pm on January 31st. SADIE DANCE BY STUDENT COUNCIL

Student Council is sponsoring a Sadie Dance on Saturday, February 3rd from 8:00pm-11:00pm in the Main Gym. The theme is Las Vegas in Alpharetta. All profits collected from the tickets will go to the Miracle Network Dance Marathon charity to support Children's Miracle Hospitals. Tickets are now on sale on OSP and are only $15. Guest permission forms are in the front office and are due by the end of the school day on Friday, January 26th. Make sure to buy a ticket, support this charity and dance the night away.

1ST BLACK HISTORY FAMILY FUN NIGHT
CHEERLEADING

Attention students and parents! There will be an information meeting for parents AND students on Tuesday, February 27th at 6:00pm in the AHS Media Center. Try-outs for the 2024-2025 season will be held Monday, March 18th – Friday, March 22nd starting at 4pm.
