College Applications

Fulton County Schools is no longer using Naviance for college applications.

While Naviance will continue to be used to research and plan for college, for the 2024-2025 school year, students will apply to college using the following platforms:

*Students should use their personal email addresses when applying to colleges and scholarships.

*Many of the abovementioned college application platforms will allow school counselors to upload high school transcripts. Therefore, students will not have to request transcripts outside of the application platform. However, if/when needed, students can request transcripts here via ScribOrder.

Georgia Match

GSFC/GaFutures will mail GEORGIA MATCH letters the first week of October to the current seniors – Class of 2025! Seniors can also use this page https://www.gafutures.org/college-planning/georgia-match to review FAQs to answer questions and navigate to their GaFutures Student Dashboard to view a PDF of their letter and list of colleges that are on their letter.

Summit OnSite School-Based Mental Health

As a parent, you want what is best for your child, but it is not always easy to know what type of support they need. Mental health therapy helps students better understand their personal needs and learn new skills to manage life situations and relationships more effectively.  Summit Counseling has partnered with Alpharetta H.S. to provide support during the school day through our on-site therapist Bailey Little. We completed our first week of school, during which students established routines with their schedules. This week, our focus is making sure our students arrive to class on time. Tardies began Monday morning. The first-period tardy bell rings at 8:20 a.m. Being on time means entering the classroom before the bell rings.

AHS Mock Trial Informational Meeting

The AHS Mock Trial team is made up of students in grades 9-12 interested in learning about law and careers in the law.  The AHSMT team competes each year in the Georgia High School Mock Trial Competition, which is a project of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia.  Coached by volunteer attorneys and teachers, teams work together to prepare trial presentations from case materials. In the competition, students undertake the roles of attorneys and witnesses in a court case. Professional attorneys and judges serve as the presiding judges and juror/evaluators in competition rounds. Teams are evaluated on their ability to make a logical, cohesive and persuasive presentation.  Adding to the authenticity of the competition, teams compete in actual courtrooms across the state beginning with the Regional competitions. The top teams from each Region advance to the District competitions, and the top two teams from each District advance to the State Finals to compete for the State Championship and the opportunity to advance to the National High School Mock Trial Championship.

AHS Students who would like to learn more are invited to attend the Informational Meeting on August 14 at 3:45pm in Room 3309.
