IB Statement of Intent

Any student intending to pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma beginning Junior Year (2025-26) must complete the Statement of Intent on or before January 15, 2025. This year’s Statement of Intent will be submitted digitally and can be accessed either via the AHS IB webpage or by clicking the link here. Students will need to login with their @fcstu.org accounts to access the application, but a .pdf of the “worksheet” document can be found here for review and preparation.

OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN MORE

NOVEMBER 20 - Mr. Fortunato will also be hosting our monthly IB Community Meeting on November 20th at 6:00pm in the AHS Media Center. The topical focus will be “Everything Extended Essay”. The EE is a cornerstone of the IB Diploma, so this is a great chance for families both prospective and current to learn about the process, product, and timelines!

Students and parents can schedule individual meetings with Mr. Fortunato to discuss IB and create a “road map” of what courses would look like. Visit the AHS IB webpage and select “Schedule a Meeting” from the menu or use the following link to go directly to the booking page.  More information about the Diploma Programme can be found on the AHS IB webpage.

If you have any questions about International Baccalaureate or the 2025-26 Statement of Intent, email Mr. Fortunato: fortunatof@fultonschools.org.

Special Fundraising Request for AHS Faculty and Staff Holiday Gathering

Dear AHS Community,

During the holiday season for the last three years, our AHS faculty and staff were able to enjoy a wonderful time together because of your generosity.  They were so joyful, relaxed, and grateful in the celebration that the AHS community made happen. The Alpharetta High School Foundation would like to ask our AHS community to again consider supporting a holiday celebration for our devoted faculty and staff.

Many of us may not know that the public-school budget has little room for events or celebrations to honor and celebrate the teachers and staff.  While the education system has been impacted severely with a high turnover rate, we appreciate that our AHS faculty and staff have remained more stable to support the students growing in the four pillars: Academics, Arts, Athletics, and Altruism. AHS is rated with an A+ Overall Grade by Niche.com and is ranked #8 Best Public High School, #5 Best Public High School Teachers, and #6 Best College Prep Public High School in Georgia https://www.niche.com/k12/alpharetta-high-school-alpharetta-ga/

In this beautiful season of appreciation, please consider donating toward the 2024 AHS Faculty & Staff Holiday Gathering. 100% of the donations received will be used to celebrate the wonderful AHS faculty and staff.

The names of the families who donate to this campaign will be presented at the holiday gathering!

These donation links are open now through Giving Tuesday, December 3, 2024:

Thank you for your generosity and tremendous support as always! Go Raiders!

Attendance Reminders

Students and parents, please remember that attendance matters! If a student will arrive to school late, get signed out early, or miss a full day of school, please make sure to follow attendance procedures found on the AHS Website. This will avoid unexcused absences on the student’s attendance record and potentially any discipline referrals being submitted to administration. Any questions regarding attendance can be directed to Ms. Alina Johnson (johnsona24@fultonschools.org).

Raider Recommends Survey

This survey is designed to allow a platform for students and parents to ask a question, submit a concern, or tell us about a great idea you have! This form links directly to AHS administration and responses will be posted to the AHS Website, when appropriate.
