AHS Updates
IB Statement of Intent

Any students intending to pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma beginning Junior Year (2025-26) must complete the Statement of Intent on or before January 15, 2025. This year’s Statement of Intent will be submitted digitally and can be accessed either via the AHS IB webpage or by clicking the link here. Students will need to login with their @fcstu.org accounts to access the application. A pdf of the  “worksheet” document can be found here for review and preparation.
Students and parents can also schedule individual meetings with Mr. Fortunato to discuss IB and create a “road map” of what courses would look like. Visit the AHS IB webpage and select “Schedule a Meeting” from the menu or click
here to go directly to the booking page.  More information about the Diploma Programme can be found on the AHS IB webpage.

If you have any questions about International Baccalaureate or the 2024-25 Statement of Intent, email Mr. Fortunato: fortunatof@fultonschools.org.

IB Beyond Alpharetta

Join Mr. Fortunato and AHS’s own IB Alumni on Wednesday January 29, 7pm at the AHS Media Center for our monthly community meeting. This month will be an exciting panel discussion and Q&A with AHS IB alumni from the classes of 2020 through 2024 who will share how IB has impacted their experiences in college and beyond!

Families of all grade levels will benefit from this discussion—whether looking ahead to IB, currently pursuing the Diploma, or just kicking the tires a bit before deciding.

Planning to attend? Have a question you want to ask? Click the link
here to submit your wonderings for the Q&A portion!

Counseling Updates
Senior Class of 2025

Senior Transcript Requests

We are anticipating that final fall semester grades will be posted to transcripts by Friday, 1/17/2025. Counselors will begin processing Common App midyear reports and Scrib orders the week of 1/20/2025.  If your senior applied to a college through Common App, they do not need to make a midyear transcript request. Counselors will automatically submit midyear reports for every senior with an active application in Common App.  Scrib order requests are only for colleges that are not listed in the student's Common App account.

HOPE Calculation Update

Seniors should be able to check HOPE GPA calculation updates by February 15, 2025.
