Attendance Reminders

Students and parents, please remember that attendance matters! If a student will arrive to school late, get signed out early, or miss a full day of school, please make sure to follow attendance procedures found on the AHS Website. This will avoid unexcused absences on the student’s attendance record and potentially any discipline referrals being submitted to administration.

Any questions regarding attendance can be directed to Ms. Alina Johnson (johnsona24@fultonschools.org).

AHS Career Fair and Expo
AHS Foundation

Scholarships and Budget

The Foundation funds scholarships for select seniors each year. This month the Scholarship Committee has been working on the scholarship applications submitted. We look forward to announcing them on Honors Night, 4/21.

The Foundation has also been busy building the budget for next year with input from Principal Scheifflee and his team, seeking input on the best ways to support the pillars of the school. We are currently seeking parents or interested community members to join our team. Please email Katie Reeves at katiereevesreliv@gmail.com for more information.

School Device Collection 2025

Seniors

We will start collecting devices on Monday, April 28th.  All Senior devices must be returned by May 6th to the media center any time during the school day in order to receive graduation tickets at practice on May 14.  Exceptions will be addressed by Ms. Kelly.  Diplomas and graduation tickets will not be issued to students who have outstanding FCS property and fines.

Underclassmen

School devices and chargers will be collected during the week of May 13th through 16th during your 3rd period class.

A $30.00 fine will be issued for all lost chargers. All other damages will be assessed when you return your device. All devices must be returned, or they will be marked stolen and a $250.00 fine will be assessed.

** If there is any circumstance where a student needs to keep their device for AP exams or other exams, please contact Pam Kelly (Kellyp@fultonschools.org) to make arrangements.

Local Real Estate Agents Host Drive to Stock the Raider Reserve

To help stock the Raider Reserve, NorthGroup real estate agents and AHS parents, Jennifer Eaby and Ken Adcox, hosted a drive on March 15 at the Highlands of Park Bridge club house and invited local neighborhoods and the AHS community to contribute. Dozens of families showed up to donate shelf stable foods, hygiene products and clothing that will help AHS students and their families in need.

One of the most frequent comments they heard from those who donated was that people had no idea that in our affluent area there are students who are food insecure, living in cars or extended stay hotels. Those who donated were happy to know that their donations would go directly to the AHS community.
