Schedule Change Request Fall 2025 - Due 8/15

Requests for schedule changes must be submitted by Friday, August 15th. Changes will only be made with the approval of the AHS Scheduling Committee and if there is space available in the requested course. If you have questions, please email your counselor. Students are assigned to counselors based on the first letter(s) of their last name:

A - COH Cloe Crosby, CrosbyC@fultonschools.org
COI - HAQ Jami Proksa, ProksaJ1@fultonschools.org
HAR - LO Amy Longstreth, Longstreth@fultonschools.org
LU - PEQ Letitia Graham, GrahamLC@fultonschools.org
PER - SHA Brandi Taylor, TaylorB@fultonschools.org
SHE - Z Karen Bolt, BoltK@fultonschools.org

Students are expected to complete courses for which they have enrolled. The following are not necessary reasons for a schedule change: Requests to change teachers, specific periods, lunch periods, “change of mind”, incomplete summer assignments, or electives (academic or non-academic) are not considered to be necessary. Necessary changes include the addition of courses required for graduation (if student is a senior), addition of courses required to fill empty periods, deletion of courses already completed, or deletion of courses “doubled up” during a specific period. Non-necessary changes will not be entertained unless there are extreme extenuating circumstances, in which case our AHS Scheduling Committee will decide on the requested schedule change. Level Up Change Requests (i.e., on-level to Honors or Honors to AP or on-level to AP) are considered if the student meets the prerequisite grade requirement and has fulfilled all other prerequisites. The counselors and administrators will work diligently to make the requested schedule change if it is “necessary” as defined above or a level (up) change request. If your request is approved, you will see it reflected in the Campus portal by Friday, August 22nd. If your request is not for a reason mentioned, you will be notified that your request is denied. In some cases, this will be due to full classes, unmet prerequisite requirements, or scheduling conflicts.

Welcome from the AHS Foundation

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year from the AHS Foundation!  The AHS Foundation is a dynamic 501(c)(3) nonprofit, partnering with the entire Raider community to support the four pillars of Alpharetta High School and foster a culture of excellence.

Through inclusive fundraising initiatives, the Foundation provides meaningful resources for students, staff and the school community, including:

  • scholarships for continuing education;
  • instructional grants and professional development for educators;
  • staff recognition to support retention;
  • impactful school-based programming; and
  • enhancements to campus facilities and equipment.

Last week, the Foundation hosted its annual Parking Space Auction for nine parking spaces, with preliminary bids due last Friday, August 8. The 9 winners were notified directly via email on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 8:00 p.m.

The Foundation is also looking forward to collaborating with PTSA around its Mini-Grants and entertaining its own first round of grant applications in the Fall.

For more information about the Foundation visit alpharettahighschoolfoundation.com or come and see us at the Foundation table on Curriculum Night, Thursday, September 4!

Reflections

National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-created theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.

The 2025-2026 Georgia PTA Reflections program theme is "I Belong!". The key to the Reflections program is the student interpreting the prompt any way they want to - this is theirs to think about and express however they desire!

The deadline for 2025-2026 AHS PTSA submissions will be Friday, October 3rd.Submissions should be brought to the AHS Media Center and placed in the labeled bin along with a completed Reflections Entry Form.
