What is IB?

All around campus, you’ve seen the logos. It’s on the school website and letterhead.

Join Mr. Fortunato to learn more about what International Baccalaureate actually is and what the Diploma Programme offers to students!

Parents of 9th and 10th grade students will find this meeting informative, helpful, and entertaining (well, as long as they like dad jokes, at least…).

So come out to AHS on September 24 from 6:30-7:30pm in the AHS Media Center and get your answer to the question “What is IB?”

Have a specific question you hope to have answered that evening?

ALL IN ON ATTENDANCE – Building Strong Routines

September is the perfect time to set consistent morning and bedtime routines that make school attendance a natural habit. Students who start the year strong are more likely to maintain excellent attendance all year long.

Students who miss fewer than 5 days in the first semester are 3 times more likely to stay on track in reading and math.

The late bell rings at 8:19 AM. Students should be in their classroom ready to learn at that time.

Please email  johnsona24@fultonschools.org and copy your child’s teacher when your child is absent.

Device Protection Plan

It’s not too late to sign up via Infinite Campus for the Device Protection Plan. This covers the student device for the entire school year. (The fees are significantly higher this year without the Protection Plan.) Questions? Please call the Service Desk at 470-254-4357.

Reflections

National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-created theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.

The 2025-2026 Georgia PTA Reflections program theme is "I Belong!". The key to the Reflections program is the student interpreting the prompt any way they want to - this is theirs to think about and express however they desire!

The deadline for 2025-2026 AHS PTSA submissions will be Friday, October 3rd.Submissions should be brought to the AHS Media Center and placed in the labeled bin along with a completed Reflections Entry Form.
