To simplify the attendance request process, the Preapproved Absence Form and Remote Day Form have been combined into one form. Please follow the steps below when requesting either a preapproved absence or a remote day.

 Step 1: Obtain the Form Pick up the combined Preapproved Absence/Remote Day Form from the Front Office.

 Step 2: Choose the Type of Request On the form, clearly indicate whether you are requesting:

• A Remote Day
• A Preapproved Absence

Step 3: Determine if You Qualify for a Remote Day Students are not eligible for a Remote Day if any of the following apply:

• A test is scheduled on the requested day.
• A major assignment is due on the requested day.
• The student will be traveling outside of the United States.

If any of these situations apply, the request will be processed as a Preapproved Absence rather than a Remote Day.

Step 4: Obtain Required Signatures Complete all required sections of the form and obtain the necessary signatures from teachers and administrators.

Step 5: Submit the Form Return the completed form to the Front Office no later than one week before the planned absence.

Please note that incomplete forms or forms submitted less than one week in advance may not be approved.

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to streamline this process and ensure students remain informed about their academic responsibilities while absent.

Alpharetta High School is hosting a two-part parent workshop series, "The AI Generation: Parenting with Confidence in a Digital Age.” It is designed to educate families on Artificial Intelligence, typical adolescent development, and how to guide their young person with confidence in this evolving technology environment.

Workshop Dates

• August 25, 2026, 6:00–7:30 PM – Foundations: What Parents Need to Know Now

• November 10, 2026, 6:00–7:30 PM – Applications: Platforms, Influence and Ethics

The workshops will address topics including:

•  AI and teen mental health

This exclusive event features intensive, hands-on culinary workshops led directly by Daryl Shular—an elite Olympic Gold Medalist, CEO of the Daryl Shular Hospitality Group, and the historic first African American to earn the Certified Master Chef designation. 

Through this unique community partnership, Chef Shular bridges global industry standards with local high school education to elevate, inspire, and train the next generation of culinary talent.

Representatives from the University of Georgia (UGA) will be visiting Alpharetta High School on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 3:30 PM to share information about admissions, academics, campus life, and opportunities at UGA. 

If you are interested in learning more about UGA, we encourage you to register using the link provided in the invitation email from UGA Admissions. Pre-registration helps UGA prepare for the visit and ensures they have enough materials available for students.

National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-created theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.

2026-2027 Reflections theme: “What My Culture Means to Me”! The key to the Reflections program is the student interpreting the prompt any way they want to - this is theirs to think about and express however they desire!

The deadline for 2026 - 2027 HS PTSA submissions will be Friday October 9th.

AHS Beta Club is a service based honors society that meets once a month. Members are provided with multiple service opportunities, socials, and fundraisers throughout the school year and must have an unweighted GPA of 80 upon applying.
