SUBJECT: AHS Curriculum Night - Thursday September 5th at 7pm

September 3rd, 2024

AHS PTSA is proud to publish the bi-monthly newsletter that showcases our school, opportunities for engagement and updates for our AHS community. This is one of the many ways your PTSA Membership supports our community. Thank you for your support

Curriculum Night

We are looking forward to hosting our community for our annual curriculum night event. Parents, please know that the events schedule will look slightly different than in years past. While you will be following your student’s schedule, our allotted time for each period has been reduced to 10 minutes.  Teachers will have prepared presentations outlining their classroom exceptions, curriculum, and coursework and will provide opportunities  to submit questions digitally.

Register for a Canvas Parent Observer Account

In addition to the steps above to find out how your student is doing, you can also register for a Canvas Parent Observer Account by following these instructions to register. Once registered, you will be able to view all courses and have a live view of student grades.

Important Changes/Updates from Previous Years

*   The biggest change to note is that we have reduced the time of each session to be an even 10 minutes. Our hope is that, by shortening the night overall, it will encourage greater turnout from the community and make each session efficient and meaningful.

  *   Owing to the shorter time windows, teachers will not have time for face-to-face Q&A. However, we still want to partner with families and be able to address specific questions, so each teacher will have a QR code or link to a feedback form so that parents can connect and ask questions while still allowing us to keep the night tight and efficient.

  *   For families who have a “gap” in their schedule, there will be presentations in the Media Center from some of our strategic partners that parents can drop in and explore. This is also where most of our business partner tables will be located to keep the front hallway from becoming overcrowded.
