AHS Updates
Attendance Update

Parents will now receive text message and communication updates regarding their child’s attendance, starting at the third absence. Please click  HERE to view the parent information flyer. If you have any questions, please reach out to Andrew Bolin.

2024 Attendance Campaign

Fulton County Schools and Alpharetta High School have joined efforts to reinforce the importance of attendance in school. This year’s campaign is focused on three areas: Be on time. Be on target. Be on track.

  • BE ON TIME. Beat the Bell, Be in Class! On Time, Every Day! School starts each day at 8:20am. Please make sure you follow your schedule!
  • BE ON TARGET. 95% Attendance Rate = No More than 8 Absences.
  • BE ON TRACK! Student Achievement - Grade Level Advancement – Graduation

For more information, please visit the Attendance Campaign Information under Features on the AHS Website.

9/11 Flag Display

Thanks to the CATS and FBLA organizations for the 9/11 Flag display on the campuses of AHS, WBMS and CVES. Despite the construction challenges along Webb Bridge Rd., they found a way to help us remember the 2,996 lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Canvas Updates

Now that we have finished up the first month of school, Canvas is fully underway. As a reminder, Canvas is used as the gradebook of record. That being said, AHS strongly encourages all parents to register for a Parent Observer Account by following these instructions. Once registered, you will be able to view all courses and have a live view of student grades.

Raider Information Hub

The Parent Information Hub has a new look! Check it out on the AHS website to access categorized information from one easy to use menu.

FCS Tip Line

See It. Hear It. And Report It Every Time

If you SEE or HEAR anything about school threats, weapons, violence, bullying, drugs, self-harm, or have other school safety suspicions or concerns, REPORT it EVERY time anonymously using the SHARE TIP LINE.

NOTE: Do not use this form to ask general questions. It is for SAFETY CONCERNS only.

Raider Recommends Survey

This survey is designed to allow a platform for students and parents to ask a question, submit a concern, or tell us about a great idea you have! This form links directly to AHS administration and responses will be posted to the AHS Website, when appropriate.

Counseling Updates
Attention 9th Grade Parents

Fulton County Schools has implemented the Signs of Suicide program to increase awareness amongst our students. This year FCS has mandated that all 9th grade students participate in the program. AHS Counseling Department will be providing face-to-face instruction in their 9th grade Math class on Thursday, September 26, 2024. If you DO NOT want your student to participate in this lesson, please return the opt-out forms to Ms. Proksa in suite 1310 or email ProksaJ1@fultonschools.org by Thursday, September 19, 2024.

The PowerPoint gives you an example of what will be presented to your student. After reviewing the PowerPoint, please contact your student's counselor if you have any questions.

Best in Class helps students change their world through education – the gift of a lifetime. Through tutoring in all academic subjects, test prep (SAT/ACT, AP), and college admissions counseling, we help high school students develop the skills and knowledge they need to excel in class and get to the college of their choice.

Supporting Georgia students for the last six school years, Best in Class Education Centers have a thirty-year history of helping students excel through:

Private Tutoring- Experienced tutors provide students with personal attention and focus they need for academic success in all academic subjects.

Test Prep – Both test prep classes and 1:1 tutoring offer test-taking practice and skill building for the SAT/ACT and AP tests. We have fully converted to the digital SAT, and will be ready for the digital ACT in early 2025. Monthly mock tests highlight a student's baseline and provide a road map to excel on the test.

College Admissions Coaching – Guidance covering college selection, application process, funding college, and SAT versus ACT selection.

College Admissions Essay Support – Guidance in writing an essay that sets students apart in the pool of applicants.

Each student has unique needs – our tailored lessons help build confidence and mastery in students’ academic work. Contact us at milton@bicedu.com or 678-332-2100 to explore how we can help you thrive.
