This Patriot Day, AHS PTSA was honored to bring our OneAlpharetta spirit to life by placing American flags at Creek View Elementary, Webb Bridge Middle School, and Alpharetta High School.

This project is a reminder that while our schools may be different, we are connected by one community. Together, we remember those we lost, honor the heroes who served, and unite our students, families, and schools in the spirit of patriotism and community.

All around campus, you’ve seen the logos. It’s on the school website and letterhead. Join Mr. Fortunato to learn more about what International Baccalaureate actually is and what the Diploma Programme offers to students!

Parents of 9th and 10th grade students will find this meeting informative, helpful, and entertaining (well, as long as they like dad jokes, at least…). So come out to AHS on September 29 from 6:30-7:30pm in the AHS Media Center and get your answer to the question “What is IB?”

IB Statement of Intent

For sophomores planning to pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma beginning next year, the Statement of Intent is now open! 

Students may declare for the Diploma by visiting the AHS IB page or directly at http://tinyurl.com/AHSIBIntent2027.

The deadline for Early Action declarations is October 15. The regular deadline is January 15.

IB Days of Shadowing

Based on incredible interest and participation in previous years, we are expanding our annual Day of Shadowing for 2026! Students interested in Shadowing a current IB Junior or Senior for a full day may now sign up to shadow on EITHER October 7 OR October 28. 

Space is limited on each day, so interested students should sign up using the form linked here as soon as possible to reserve a spot.

    • Guest Permission Form must be filled out and turned in by the deadline for admittance.
  • New ticketing system:
    • Limit of two (2) tickets per student.
      Students must present their Student ID and their purchase receipt containing the QR code to redeem their ticket and gain admission to the dance.
      Please PURCHASE tickets THROUGH the STUDENT'S ACCOUNT so that the correct student information is captured.
      DO NOT CHECK OUT AS A GUEST. We will not be able to verify that you purchased tickets.
      If purchasing through a parent account, please note that you will be unable to purchase tickets for multiple students if more than one student in your household is attending. If purchasing through a parent account, during checkout, you must uncheck "Myself" and enter the student's name in the designated field.

Just a reminder that R.I.S.E. (Re-teaching/Instructional Support and Enrichment) is available weekly to provide extra support and help students strengthen content mastery.

Alpharetta High School Foundation (AHSF) is delighted to announce a partnership with Macy’s North Point this month.

Through Macy’s ‘Big Give Back’ program, shoppers at Macy’s North Point will have the opportunity to voluntarily round up their purchases at checkout, with the difference in spare change collected by Macy’s to benefit the high school.

To participate, simply make a purchase at Macy’s North Point between September 15 and October 15, 2026 and select AHSF from the sponsored charities.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, AHSF works together with the entire school community to support the four pillars of academics, arts, athletics and altruism, and to foster a culture of excellence. AHSF accomplishes this by raising money to provide meaningful resources for students, staff and the school community, including: 

• scholarships for continuing education 
• instructional grants and professional development for educators 
• staff recognition to support retention 
• impactful school-based programming 
• enhancements to campus facilities and equipment

As parents, guardians and members of the larger AHS community, we invite you to support this program and the high school at Macy’s North Point in the next month, and thank Macy’s for this wonderful opportunity!

Additionally, members of the Board are happy to share in information about AHSF, and welcome AHS families to join the Foundation for its annual General Meeting on Wednesday, September 16 at 7:30 a.m., with the location TBD at the school.

Alpharetta High School will be offering the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) test on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. All interested students in grades 10–12 are encouraged to participate.

What is the ASVAB? 

The ASVAB is a career exploration test that helps students learn more about their strengths and how those strengths connect to different career paths. It includes sections on math, reading, problem‑solving, and mechanical concepts.

Does taking the ASVAB mean a student is joining the military?
No. The ASVAB is simply a tool to help students explore options.

·   Location: AHS Media Center

·   Cost: FREE

·   Who Can Participate: Students in grades 10–12

·   What to Bring: A charged device, charger, and a positive attitude!

National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-created theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.

2026-2027 Reflections theme: “What My Culture Means to Me”! The key to the Reflections program is the student interpreting the prompt any way they want to - this is theirs to think about and express however they desire!

The deadline for 2026 - 2027 HS PTSA submissions will be Friday October 9th.
